The Live Updating File (LUF) Redesign

The LUF is the fastest news delivery vehicle at The Post. As such, it is a critical new subscriber acquisition product that regularly performs well in search.

What: Increase scroll depth, time on page, and SERP CTR.

Why: 1 in 10 users made it to the first/fifth post and SERP view-ability was inconsistent. For a feed based xp which requires many reporters to maintain, this product was in critical condition.

How: We restructured the page for scrolling, re-circulation, and optimized the code for Core Web Vitals to win in search.

Impact: 80% of users made it to the first post, 50% made it to the fifth. Core Web Vitals performance is up 32% to 99% on Mweb and Desktop.
